I am left with an option to send the unit in for service and get a refurbished unit which may as well cause even more issues than I currently have.

We tried to apply a "FixScan" patch that the HP support rep sent me by email, we applied a new firmware update (Datecode:20080612 or June 12, 2008), we reset the printer to factory defaults, we did a full hardware reset (holding CANCEL & RIGHT ARROW while powering up the unit) on the printer and we did a full HP software re-installation on the computer and nothing has helped. I just spent two hours on the phone with HP support and they have no solution. Now after scan destinations are set and "pushed" to the printer they disappear once the printer is power cycled. After configuring it last week it worked fine until a firmware update from HP. Until last week we had not used the scanning capabilities nor did I set it up. Overall Review: We have owned the M2727 since April of 2008 and it has worked great with our little office of 4 people.

Pros: Excellent quality prints, fast prints/copies, automatic duplexing, network ready, seems decent on toner as we have 2400 pages on the original cartridge with 31% left (cartridge is rated for 3000 prints), overall good SMB printer & copier and okay for light faxing and scanningĬons: Scanning is a quite slow for a decent resolution and still isn't very good quality for documents, scan destinations need to be configured on the PC and then "pushed" to the M2727 and you can not send the scanned documents to a UNC path, scan destinations disappear on power cycle (see below)
